Lucid Landscapes
Lucid Landscapes explored paranoia, panic, and distorted perception, all symptoms of PTSD, through chaotic line work. Using nature as a metaphor for coping and growth, Sarah created psychological landscapes that blurred the boundary between reality and projection, inviting viewers to experience the instability of seeing through a mental illness filter.
“A lucid landscape, a term coined by a friend, is how I describe a scene shrouded in mental illness, as if to apply a mental illness filter to a photo. What is real? And what isn’t?”
